ELEMENTS!

EARTH! WATER! FIRE! AIR! SPACE!

According to Ayurveda Medicine: the 5 elements create our inner workings. At conception an individual has a unique constitutional type “prakriti” and this does not change throughout life. It is a combination of the 3 Doshas (Vate, Pitta, and Kapha) and encompasses physical, mental, and emotional qualities. Understanding one’s prakriti helps identify strenghts, tendencies, and predispositions.

The elements:

EARTH! Stability in bones, grounded and confident, sense of smell

WATER! Flow of energy, balance emotions, sense of taste

FIRE! Digestive fire, vitality, sense of sight

AIR! Breath and lungs, mental function, sense of touch

SPACE! Expanse, vibration, sense of hearing

When we live in harmony with ourselves, others, and the environment we achieve true well-being. I enjoy bringing elemental awareness into sessions and classes. Depending on unique constitution, stage in life, season of year, time of day, etc, certain diet, movement patterns, and daily routines can create balance and an optimal environment for health and healing. Nature is NOT fighting against you.
